What is a Private Key?
A private key is an encrypted alphanumeric code to unlock your cryptocurrency wallet. It allows you to prove ownership and transfer cryptocurrencies associated with your public wallet address. Every crypto wallet has private keys, regardless of whether they are hot, cold, hardware; custodial or non-custodial wallets.
Here’s a short explanation of private key, public key, and address - Public key is like your account number, a safer version of your public key is an address, and the private key is like the password to the account.
Note: You should never share your private key with anyone.
